On Wednesday, December 27, 2017, 1000+ Club to Benefit Cancer (1000+ Club) members Barbara Brietstein and Gina Stelnik met with Amy and Rick Menger at Joe DiMaggio’s Hospital to dedicate a Chad’s Bracket Red Wagon they sponsored in honor of Amy’s Mother, Loretta Widder Slater.  Loretta, a lifelong member and past Board Member of 1000+ Club, whose love for teddy bears was well known, passed away on August 15, 2016.  Chad’s Bracket is a device used to attach IV poles to children’s wagons for easier transportation of children by hospital staff and parents.

The Red Wagon Project was launched by 1000+ Club in 2017 and donors purchased 12 wagons that have been delivered to The Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital (The Parker Family, Susan and Richard Pudsey, The Amdur Family, Thomas and Pearl, P.A., and Falkanger Snyder Martineau & Yates), Joe DiMaggio Hospital (Economy Exterminators and Timothy Parker) and Holtz Children’s Hospital (Jason Taylor Foundation). These wagons make the everyday life in the hospital a little easier and brighter for the children.
